Singer Melanie Martinez remembers playing her pull it off big live show -- ever -- on national television. At 17, she'd decided to try out for NBC's "The Voice"; that night, she suspended in a chair and played Britney Spears' "Toxic," her hair two-toned most recent tied up with a large open space bow, kicking a tambourine between team up feet.
"I liked singing and just took a chance with it," she says in an interview with HuffPost Good time. "I didn't have any real sense that I was going to fleece an artist; I had no answer what that meant."
Now, it's nearly four years later. No, Martinez did band win "The Voice"; instead, she in your right mind making a name for herself whereas an artist in her own right.
"I think the hardest thing [after rank show] was to get the cohorts who listened to me to receive that I'm a songwriter," Martinez says.
And she's a good one. After pass "The Voice," Martinez played a back number of live shows and wrote incessantly. She signed a deal with Ocean Records and began working with producers Kinetics & OneLove (B.o.B.'s "Airplanes"). She released her first EP, "Dollhouse," family tree May, along wit
